White Out

Seems like my life is filled to the brim right now with lots of stuff. Every time I think there's a break coming it's filled up with more stuff. There are a lot of good things happening, like how we visited family last Saturday, but it does tend to cut into the fishing time. Most of the year this isn't as big of a deal, but this is Fall. This year doesn't have much sand left in the glass and I can feel the options closing down around me. Oh well, at least I got out fishing with Atley for a couple of hours on Saturday.

We started out by checking on a couple of small streams we're yet to fish. Unfortunately, the first stream was running off-colored and the second failed to show any signs of life. No worries, we still know where some fish live and headed there to avoid the skunk.

Still haven't written this stream off, just need to hit it on a better day.
Our time on the same small stream as last weekend started out great, with Atley catching four fish quickly. I even had the presence of mind to shoot a couple of little videos and take some pics of the boy.

This kid is really starting to get it

Big fish of the day. The smile says it all
The fish were eating MHEs and Chubby Chernobyl's, though they didn't seem overly picky. Unfortunately, it didn't take long for the storm to find us and make the fishing a bit too cold for Atley. His hands got pretty cold when he got them wet (by touching fish) so I took over as we made our way up to an easy place to get out of the ravine. The snow was really coming down!

Some pretty cool little bridges

Only Rainbow of the day was the last fish
Made it back home just fine and the truck's heater took care of chill. Very well could be the last time we hit this small stream until next year, but I'm glad we've had a place to get in a couple of afternoon quick-trips. Hope you can get out, be safe, and enjoy the outdoors.
